Antique Cantagalli Florence Majolica Plate, Yellow Elk Deer, Reticulated Ceramic Bowl (1890-1910)

An absolute masterpiece for your art pottery collection. This is an incredibly rare, vintage/antique reticulated open-work ceramic plate that features a stunning hand-painted folk art design. The center showcases a striking yellow elk or deer surrounded by rich blue and green floral patterns.

The most exciting part? The underside bears the signature hand-drawn black rooster mark, indicating it is a piece of historic Cantagalli Florence Majolica Faience ware. The beautiful lattice cutout border and scalloped profile give it a hypnotic, high-end look that is perfect for a gallery display wall.

Based on the style, hallmark evolution, and exporting history of the Manifattura Cantagalli workshop, the best guess for the age of this plate is circa 1890 to 1910. This firmly places the piece in the late Victorian to Edwardian era, making it a true antique that is roughly 115 to 135 years old. Here is why this specific time window fits this plate so perfectly: The Peak Revival Era: Ulisse Cantagalli took over the Florence family pottery in 1878 and built an international reputation by creating incredible, high-end "Renaissance Revival" majolica for wealthy British and American collectors. Intricate reticulated (lace cutout) borders like yours were heavily produced during this peak boom between 1880 and 1910.
